NSW Stem Cell Network - The Future
The results of the survey, NSW Stem Cell Network – The Future, are summarised below. Thank you to everyone who responded to the survey. Your feedback has been invaluable for gaining a perspective on the needs of the stem cell research community.
99 Respondents started the survey and 74 completed all questions. The key results of the survey are as follows:
- 50% of respondents were scientists
- Past activities of the Network of most interest were:
1 - specific workshops;
2 - networking with others;
3 - regular email updates
- The most successful past event type was - Workshops
- 96% of respondents said there was a future for the Network
- Activities the Network should run in the future were varied, with the most favoured being: workshops, educational forums, advice on grant opportunities, advice on job opportunities and providing a regular list of stem cell publications
- 88% of respondents said the Network should advise government on stem cell matters, especially through professional presentations and informal consultations
- 85% of respondents said the Network should advise the community on stem cell matters, especially through educational forums

Mixed dozen bottles of wine
The mixed dozen bottles of wine has been awarded to Jin Han. The prize was drawn by Lilian Jackson M.B.B.Ch, Manager - Health and Education Division, Diabetes Australia-NSW at the offices of Diabetes Australia-NSW, Glebe on 15.1.2010.
